What is the First Pages Prize?

The First Pages Prize is a worldwide competition for the best opening of a novel. Now in its fifth year, the competition aims to “discover, recognize and encourage emerging voices,” which they accomplish through their annual prize and author showcase. Every year, writers are honored with a place on the contest’s longlist, and we are thrilled to announce that we are one of the 32 longlisted writers in the 2022 competition!

Our project, Perfect Fifth, follows a quartet of prodigious musicians each holding their own dark secrets, who invite a fifth to join them for a celebrated premiere—with deadly consequences.
