“Redemption Blues” in The Saturday Evening Post May/June 2025

Today is the long-awaited publication day for Jennifer’s short story Redemption Blues. Selected as the featured story in the May/June print edition of The Saturday Evening Post, Redemption Blues re-imagines the Garden of Gethsemane as a western, set in a Nevada silver-mining town at the end of the American Frontier. This story has been talked about on the blog before, when it was named a Writer’s Digest Honorable Mention and Screencraft Quarter-Finalist, and we are so happy that it’s found such a wonderful home in the pages of the Post!

We’ve talked about The Saturday Evening Post on the blog before, too—the magazine celebrates its 204th birthday this summer, and has published names ranging from Bradbury to Wodehouse and everyone in-between. This is also our second short story to be featured in the Post—published in 2021, “The Self-Made Man” can be read here.

Redemption Blues can be read in the May/June issue and at saturdayeveningpost.com, and will be made available online here. Click through the beautiful cover below to find the story!
